T-5046N for Tile Adhesives

T-5046N is highly recommended for your tile adhesive formulations. Not only that, it enhances the overall performance and properties, but also, it’s easy and convenient to use, and more durable.

 

Adhesion enhancement. T-5046N forms a strong bond between the tiles and the substrate. The tiles remain secure in place over time.

 

Crack resistance. Tile adhesives with T-5046N exhibit anti-crack ability, even in high-traffic areas.

 

Long opening time. Adding T-5046N extends the opening time during application. You may gently adjust the tiles’ position without worrying about the mixtures drying too fast.

 

Simple to apply. T-5046N only requires simple steps to mix and blend. After you get a homogeneous mixture, you’re good to go!

What are the different types of redispersible polymer powder?

For Tile Applications
· T-5043N: Suitable for tile adhesives and is versatile in various tiling applications.

Why should the thickness of putty be controlled between 0.5mm and 1mm?

The thickness of the putty is directly proportional to the curing shrinkage strength. The increase in shrinkage strength is directly proportional to the tendency of putty cracking.

 

When the putty thickness increases, the curing shrinkage increases, due to the tendency of cracking. Therefore, the curing shrinkage strength significantly reduces when the scraping thickness is less than 1mm to avoid putty cracking.

 

If the scraping thickness is too thin, the water content in the putty layer evaporates too quickly. It may lead to a choking effect. Thus, the thickness of scraping should be more than 0.5mm.

How to determine the quality of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) simply and straight forward?

Whiteness. The white color of HPMC doesn’t determine the product quality or effectiveness. And yet, if the whitening agent were added, it could affect quality indicators. However, most of the high-quality HPMC products appear as a good white color.

 

Fineness/μm. Generally, HPMC has 80 and 100 μm. 120 μm is very rare. The higher the number, the better the quality.

 

Transmittance. Add HPMC into the water, and check the transmittance after forming the transparent colloid. The greater the transmittance, the better; the insoluble matter or impurities is less.
The vertical reactor is better than the horizontal reactors regarding transmittance. However, it doesn’t mean that a vertical reactor produces better quality, as there are multiple reasons to determine the final quality.

 

Proportion. The larger the proportion, the better. As in the proportion of the high content of hydroxypropyl. Hydroxypropyl content is high, and water retention is better.
